Nurses who want to work in United Arab Emirates (UAE) are in luck because there is a job opportunity waiting for them in a big government hospital in Abu Dhabi. The hiring process will be via Nursing Agency Abba Personnel Services Inc., a licensed recruitment agency. Representatives from the hospital will visit the Abba office this month to interview nurse-applicants.

This health institution is reputed to be one of the highest-paying hospitals in the Middle East. Managed by Global Medical Solutions in Abu Dhabi, the government hospital with a 365-bed facility intends to hire almost 200 new nurses from the Philippines.

Applicants will be interviewed by recruitment team from Abu Dhabi composed of eight people. They need nurses for the following departments: Intensive Care Unit, Recovery Room, Emergency Room, Female and Male Medical Ward, Male Ortho Ward, Out Patient Department, Cardiology, Oncology, Endoscopy, Long Term, Step down, Hemodialysis, Pediatric, Anesthesia and VIP.

Global Medical Solutions nursing agency also went to the Philippines in December 2007 to recruit 178 Filipino nurses. Upon selection, most of the hired nurses only had to wait for two months before they were deployed.

The said hospital is said to offer the most attractive compensation for nurses because the starting salary for those with at least 3 years work experience is more or less USD 1,300 a month or Php 61,380. For every year in excess of 3 years work.

a nurse’s salary goes up. Nurses with extensive experience in specialty areas can earn as much as USD2476 or Php 116,904 per month.

GENERAL INFORMATION

It is located West of Jeddah, at the end of Tahliya Street by the Red Sea, approximately 25 kilometers from the city center and is easily accessible to the general population as well as to accident victims requiring immediate emergency care.

The hospital will eventually consist of a 250 bed acute and tertiary medical care center providing health care service to Military personnel, employees and their dependents. A 250 bed VIP wing is currently under construction. Expected to be commissioned by end 2000.
The services of the hospital are at a high level of professional standards as defined by the standards of the United States Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and the Hospital Operation Standards. The Hospital requires that the quality of services rendered and the general operating standards of the hospital project continue to meet international standards and the Hospital Operations Standards.

CONTRACT AND BENEFITS INFORMATION

Nurses contracts from their nursing agencies and hospital are for either one or two years, at the employer's option, and are very often renewable . The standard work week in Saudi Arabia is 44 hours. The number of hours in a shift vary some what from department to department. The standard work week is Saturday through Wednesday. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not have an income tax. SYDNEY, July 19 (UPI) -- An aging population and an increasing number of people living at home with chronic illnesses are increasing demands for nurses in Australia.

With that nation's healthcare system becoming more reliant on community nursing to care for people with chronic and complex health problems, researchers at the University of Western Sydney reviewed how patients perceive community nurses and the work they do.

UWS School of Nursing Senior Lecturer Dr Jane Cioffi says the study focused on care provided clients of community health nursing services in Greater Western Sydney during a 12-month period.

"Community nurses make a major contribution to Australia's health services, but because the work they do is 'behind closed doors', it's usually only people who receive the service who understand the real value of it," Cioffi said. "Our research has shown that the standard of care people are receiving is good ... but there's a need to look ahead to see how we can plan for the increasing demand for services in the future (since) clients are being discharged from hospitals earlier these days."

The researchers found community nurses provided 147,126 visits during the 12-month period to Greater Western Sydney clients.
